The Fascinating History of Sutton House, built 1535
Great article, and we're looking forward to hosting Hackney History Festival here in May for the 3rd time.. Join us!
Very interesting. Thanks. And especially tying it to Ralph Sadler thomas Cromwell and Hillary Mantell books.
What a fabulous house. I'd love to visit one day. I think I'd like to sit in the rooms and linger a bit.
I think I've seen that squat before, on the telly box but I can't remember the context. Thanks for this post!
Great article Katie! Thx!
Thanks Cath 🥰
Is there a story behind the extraordinary double-decker caravan in the Breaker's Yard?
I believe it’s a salvaged amalgamation of caravans from the 1970s. The site was a breaker’s Yard next door but the NT acquired it and it opened as part of the site in 2005
That would be great 😊. I have stopped working so I have more free time now.
Do you lead a tour or walk that includes Sutton House, Katie?
Not a regular public one, no. But u have done a few private ones in Hackney, maybe I should think about putting one together :)
That would be super
